From April 1st through June 30th, the Harriet Tubman – Journey to Freedom sculpture by Wesley Wofford will be on display in Renaissance Plaza in downtown White Plains. In conjunction with this historic visit by the sculpture, the Library and many other community partners are organizing events related to Harriet Tubman, the Underground Railroad, and more, throughout April, May, and June.
Join librarians Ashley and Caroline for a book discussion and trivia game for 4th through 8th graders! We will be reading Eliza's Freedom Road: An Underground Railroad Diary by Jerdine Nolen. Author Jerdine Nolen will be joining us for a Q&A session after the discussion! We will provide a free copy of the book for the first ten individuals to register for the discussion. When the books are available, we will email to arrange pickup; please list an email address when registering.
