Sponsored by Westchester Children's Association this event is free and open to the public. New York’s Raise the Age (RTA) law passed in 2017 with bipartisan support. This was a long-coming and hard one victory to treat our children as children. In the past 5+ years, RTA has seen substantial changes including redirecting resources towards support services, counseling, and education, enabling a more holistic approach to youth rehabilitation. With adequate funding from the state, we can invest in the services and community assets that Raise the Age calls for and help vulnerable youth develop crucial skills fostering healthier and safer communities. The journey towards comprehensive youth justice in New York demands continual dedication and advocacy.
