Ellen O’Connell, White Plains resident and retired English teacher, will moderate a discussion of The Mothers, a 2016 debut novel by Brit Bennett. Published to critical acclaim, it was a New York Times bestseller and named Best Book of 2016 by NPR (National Public Radio). Mira Jacob of the Times calls it “a lush book...of so many secrets, betrayals and reckonings that to spill them in the lines of a review...would be silly.” The book and audiobook are available in the Library's physical collection.
